We have been using Mars services for over two years now and they have provided us with quality services in both our HVAC and plumbing needs. After having gone through two conventional tank water heaters in less than 20 years in our new house we converted to a “tankless” heater. We had it installed by a plumber we knew with no problems, however, when it soon had an issue he could not correct. We had Mars come in and they contacted the manufacturer’s engineers and discovered it had a faulty gas valve (which was quickly sent with no charge), and had it replaced and working properly again. They also did a great job installing our new Duncan furnace this winter (2023). We have also had them replace kitchen and bath Delta fixtures in our home after they also made all the contacts and placed the orders with the Delta manufacturers in order to have them send the replacements according to their “free lifetime replacement” policy. Having made many calls to their office over these past two years the ladies in their office have always been wonderful to talk to and made arrangements to get service to us for all our needs as quickly as possible. I would highly recommend their company for any HVAC or plumbing needs.

The amount of time it will take to replace a main water line depends on the size and complexity of the repair. A small and simple water main can be repaired in as little as six to eight hours, whereas larger and more complicated repairs can take several days to a week to complete. If you need to replace your main water line, have a Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic certified plumber assess your water line and give you an estimate of how long it will take to replace as well as a price quote.
To be certain that your main water line is broken, you will need to have a professional plumbing expert from Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic assess your water main. Indications that your water line may be broken are increasing water bills, low water pressure, and soft spots in your lawn. If you notice any of these issues, call Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic to look at your main water line and give you an estimate.
While it is possible to replace your own main water line if you still have old galvanized steel pipes, it is highly recommended to have a certified plumber from Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic handle the job. Replacing a main water line is a very complex process that could potentially affect your entire neighborhood if done incorrectly. Our certified plumbers at Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic have the knowledge, experience, and expertise in repairing water main lines and will even provide you with a quote before doing any repairing or replacing.
The most commonly used type of pipe for a water main Polyvinyl Chloride Pipe (PVC). Benefits of PVC piping material include that it’s inexpensive, lightweight, durable, corrosion resistant, and nonreactive with most chemicals.
PVC water main line pipes can last as long as 100 years. PVC pipes are highly resilient towards freezing conditions and meet the majority of pipe requirements. While water main line pipes can last as long as 100 years, the average water main starts failing around 50 years.
In order to figure out what size your main water line should be, you will need a professional plumber from Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic to figure that out for you. Water main lines tend to be complex plumbing systems and our plumbing experts at Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic have the tools, knowledge, skills, and experience that most homeowners do not have access to.
If there is a clog or break in your water main line, it will affect the water pressure in your home. When a clog or break is present, less water is able to move through the pipe, and therefore not able to make it to your plumbing fixtures, such as shower heads or sinks. Decreased water pressure is a very common sign of a broken water main.
Has your monthly water bill randomly increased? If it has and you notice any of the other symptoms listed here, you may have a clog or break in your water main. When there is a break in the line, it will often waste excess water, causing a significant increase in your monthly utility bill. If you notice that your water bill has increased out of nowhere and you are experiencing at least one of these other symptoms, you should call our team about replacing your water main right away.
If you have wet patches or pools of vibrant grass throughout your lawn, you likely have a water main line break. Pooling water and a foul odor from the water is an almost always an indisputable indication your water main has suffered a break. Call us for expert help immediately before extensive damage to your home and main line become worse.
When a water main breaks, dirt and debris can get inside of the pipe and eventually in your water supply. Because main lines are underground, toxic and hazardous objects can leak into your water supply, resulting in you and your family becoming sick. If you notice that the water from your sinks, bathtubs, and drains appears to be discolored and fragrant, you may have yourself a main water line break!
Another sign that your water main may be in need of replacement is unfamiliar, loud noises coming from your plumbing when it is not being used. If you notice water moving or other random plumbing noises while these appliances are not being used, there is an issue that will need to be resolved within your water line.
Lastly, if you notice that many of your toilets, sinks, or shower drains are constantly getting clogged no matter how much snaking or store-bought drain cleaner you use, your water line is either clogged or has broken entirely. This can also happen if your sewer line is clogged or broken as well. Either way, you will need to call in our experts to help determine whether a repair or replacement is necessary.
