We have been using Mars services for over two years now and they have provided us with quality services in both our HVAC and plumbing needs. After having gone through two conventional tank water heaters in less than 20 years in our new house we converted to a “tankless” heater. We had it installed by a plumber we knew with no problems, however, when it soon had an issue he could not correct. We had Mars come in and they contacted the manufacturer’s engineers and discovered it had a faulty gas valve (which was quickly sent with no charge), and had it replaced and working properly again. They also did a great job installing our new Duncan furnace this winter (2023). We have also had them replace kitchen and bath Delta fixtures in our home after they also made all the contacts and placed the orders with the Delta manufacturers in order to have them send the replacements according to their “free lifetime replacement” policy. Having made many calls to their office over these past two years the ladies in their office have always been wonderful to talk to and made arrangements to get service to us for all our needs as quickly as possible. I would highly recommend their company for any HVAC or plumbing needs.

Usually, it will take one to five days for a professional to install a central air conditioning system in your home. A/C replacements and projects with extensive ductwork, repairs, and/or installations will take more time.
Typically, a new air conditioner will cost around $2750 (more or less), but it will depend on the size of your home and the type of unit you need installed. Consider installing a new air conditioner when you buy a new furnace – by adding both units to your forced air system at the same time, you can save on costs by reducing time and labor.
Yes, usually any home can have central air. You probably will have to allow for ductwork and other design allowances, but it can be done. Before making the decision to have central air installed in your home, you should schedule an in-home consultation with a certified HVAC technician to get an idea of the total cost. Other cooling options for your home aside from central air include ductless splits and geothermal systems.
Possibly the most obvious but important factor in deciding whether or not to replace your A/C unit is its age. Generally speaking air conditioning units near the end of their useful life around 12-15 years. If your A/C unit is around that age and experiencing issues, it’s probably time to have Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic replace it!
If you notice your A/C unit making odd noises such as squealing, grinding, scraping, or loud pops/bangs, call Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic to consult about a replacement.
When air conditioning units are on their last leg they can produce foul odors. Additionally, if you smell smoke coming from your unit, call Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic immediately!
If the air quality permeating your Collinsville, IL home is noticeably different, there is a high chance this is from running your failing A/C unit. In this instance, we recommend calling (618) 892-9428 and turning off your unit until you’ve talked to a pro.
If your energy bills have randomly increased, seemingly out of nowhere, this is usually because your A/C unit needs a replacement from Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic. Another benefit of replacing your unit for a newer one is it will likely have significantly better energy efficiency.
Have you found yourself needing to repair your A/C unit frequently? If this is the case, it makes more sense to bite the bullet and have Mars Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Sewer & Septic replace the entire unit.
If you find that it is taking forever to cool down your home, it is probably due to poor airflow. Weak airflow comes with age and is a common indicator that your A/C is nearing the end of its days.
